Benchley Weinberger Elementary is a joyful, inclusive learning community located in the rolling hills of the San Carlos neighborhood. At the heart of our school is the Panda With Heart Vision: We are lifelong upstanders who make a positive impact on our community. This vision guides everything we do, from how we learn and lead to how we care for one another and the world around us.
As a Communications Magnet School, our students don’t just learn content — they learn to communicate with purpose. Through our dynamic media program, students explore real-world skills like public speaking, video production, entrepreneurship, and digital literacy. They even design and operate student-run businesses, developing creativity, leadership, and collaboration along the way.
Hands-on, inquiry-based learning is the teaching model we strive for. From planting and harvesting in our thriving school garden to participating in project-based lessons across all subjects, students are encouraged to ask questions, think deeply, and connect their learning to the world around them.
Benchley is also a place where community shines. Whether we're cheering at the Panda Fun Run, celebrating our cultures at the Multicultural Festival, or creating memories at Family Movie Night, there’s always something special happening here. Our PTA, Foundation, Equity Team Papa Pandas and parent volunteers are essential partners in bringing these events to life and enriching the experience for every child.
